The future release of EA’s popular soccer game, now known as EA Sports FC 24, has been announced. The game will be released on a number of platforms on September 29th, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Following the conclusion of EA’s collaboration with FIFA following FIFA 23, the focus has shifted from the FIFA series to EA Sports FC.
The game will still cost $70 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, despite speculations claiming a higher pricing ($80) for these systems. Players of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are also subject to this price point, creating a “dual entitlement” cross-generational model. The pricing for PC users is also $70, while the Nintendo Switch version costs $60.
For $100, an Ultimate Edition will be available that includes rewards for your Ultimate Team, 4,600 FC points, and up to seven days of early access. Notably, the ordinary edition does not include an Ultimate Team Campaign mode, although all players can still access the regular Ultimate Team gameplay.
Women are now playable in the Ultimate Team mode in EA Sports FC 24, allowing male and female players to participate on the same virtual field. The game debuts new women’s leagues like Germany’s Frauen-Bundesliga and Spain’s Liga F.
By including more than 19,000 real players, more than 30 leagues, and 100 venues, the game aspires to authenticity. Access to events like the Champions League and official branding are made possible by exclusive relationships with the English Premier League and UEFA.
EA Sports FC 24 also introduces Frostbite on the Switch platform and is powered by an improved Frostbite engine. Utilizing volumetric data from more than 180 professional games, HyperMotion technology gives more realistic full-team movement and distinctive player run patterns. PlayStyles, another innovation, uses real-world data from Opta and other sources to boost player individuality and skills.
Crossplay capabilities between PS4 and Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and other platforms will be made available. For the first time, crossplay will be supported in game modes like Volta Football, Clubs, Co-Op Season, and Ultimate Team Co-Op. Crossplay will not be included in EA Sports FC 24’s Switch release, though.
